The rules, version v4
Degen Credit Score is the on-chain credit report for Solana wallets: our own ranking, built from our own metrics. Every score on this site comes from these rules and nothing else. Change a number here and the version changes.
What counts as a trade
Every transaction is read from the wallet's own balance changes, so every DEX and pump.fun count the same way.
- Buy: one token balance goes up and SOL (or USDC or USDT) goes down.
- Sell: one token balance goes down and SOL (or USDC or USDT) goes up.
- A token-for-token swap counts as a sell of one and a buy of the other.
- Plain transfers and airdrops are not trades.
- Moves under 0.001 SOL are ignored.
Positions are first in, first out. Prices are SOL per token at the wallet's own trades. The current state of each token comes from DexScreener, using its deepest pool.
We read the last 180 days. The first time a wallet is scored we read its newest 2,000 transactions and keep them on file. Every score after that fetches only what is new, adds it to the file, and the wallet is scored on everything on file inside the window. So the more often a wallet is scored, the more of it we read. We keep at most the newest 150,000 transactions of any wallet on file. A wallet can also be read in full on request, which puts its whole window on file. Every wallet on the KOL board has been read back to 2026-06-24, or on its newest 150,000 transactions when it traded more than that in the period, so the KOLs are compared over one and the same period.
Thin file
Fewer than 50 trades or fewer than 5 different tokens gets no number. The card says thin file, the way a new credit file does.
Nothing to score
A thin file has real trades and too few of them. An address with no trades at all gets its own result, "nothing to score", and the result says which of two things we found. Either there are no transactions on the address, which usually means it is not the address the trades were signed from, or it has never been used on Solana. Or there are transactions and none of them are token trades, which is what a transfer-only or staking-only address looks like. Neither one is listed on the boards.
The four components
Each is 0 to 100.
Hold time (weight 30). The cost-weighted median hold across every sold lot and every open lot in a token that is still alive. Under 10 minutes scores 0, one hour 15, one day 45, one week 75, 30 days or more 100. Between those points it is a straight line on a log scale.
Paper hands (weight 30). The share of sell value that was paper. A sell is paper when it came within 10 minutes of the buy, or when the token is still alive and trades today at 2x or more the price it was sold at. Score = 100 x (1 minus that share). Version 1 compares against today's price only. A full "how high did it go after you sold" needs price history and comes in a later version.
Rugs (weight 20). A rug is a token you held into the ground. If you sold out of a token (or what you still hold cost you under 5% of what you put in), it is a rug only when you got back under 5% of what you paid, whatever the token did after you left. If you still hold a real position, it is a rug when the token has no pool today, or its pool holds under $500, or it trades under 5% of your average entry price. Rug rate = rugged tokens divided by the tokens you bought. Loss share = SOL you put into rugged tokens and never got back, divided by all SOL you put into tokens. Score = 100 x (1 minus the smaller of 1 and 0.7 x rug rate + 0.3 x loss share).
Bot pattern (weight 20). Start at 100 and subtract: buys inside 10 seconds of a pool's creation (up to 40, full at half your buys), more than 30 trades in any hour (20), the same lamport size on half or more of your buys (15), Jito tips on more than 30% of trades (15), a median buy-to-sell under 60 seconds (10). Floor is 0. A bot is not a degen.
The number
Score = 300 + 550 x (0.30 x hold + 0.30 x paper + 0.20 x rugs + 0.20 x bot) / 100, rounded.
| Band | Score |
|---|---|
| Jeet | under 500 |
| Tourist | 500 to 619 |
| Degen | 620 to 739 |
| Diamond | 740 and up |
What is not in the score
Names, handles, NFTs, staking, airdrop farming, how much money you have. Only trades.
Limits we know about
Tokens DexScreener does not list are left out of the paper math, and out of the rug math while you still hold them. Tokens moved to or from another wallet are not trades and are not tracked. A bag sent away still looks held here, which flatters hold time, and a bag received then sold has no cost here. Closing a position at the moment it leaves the wallet is on the list for a later version. A wallet is scored again at most every 30 minutes.
Labels next to the score, not in it
Automated. At least 20,000 transactions on file and at least 5,000 a day. A machine, not a trader. Automated wallets are scored like everyone else and are not ranked on the boards.
Tailable by hand. A label for people who want to copy a wallet, from the wallet's typical hold (the same cost-weighted median the hold component uses), its trades per active day and the share of its buys inside 10 seconds of a token's launch. "Not tailable by hand" when the wallet is automated, trades 100 or more times a day, or lands a quarter or more of its buys inside 10 seconds of launch. "Hard to tail by hand" when it holds under an hour or trades 30 or more times a day. "Tailable by hand" otherwise. The wallet page also shows the last trade, the win rate on positions the wallet bought and sold here, the typical buy and the biggest position, and the score by 30-day slice. None of it changes the score. There is no profit figure and no holdings list on purpose: a token moved to another wallet never shows up as a sale here, so neither number would be real.
Changes
- v4, 2026-10-09: the thin-file bar is 50 trades (was 20), re-scores wait 30 minutes (was 10), files are capped at the newest 150,000 transactions, and the labels above were added next to the score (a small-sample label was shown for a day and removed). The four components did not change. An address with no trades at all now says "nothing to score" instead of thin file.
- v3, 2026-10-07: a wallet is scored on everything we have on file inside the window, not only on its newest 2,000 transactions. The math did not change. Scores labelled v2 were computed on the newest 2,000 only and update the next time the wallet is scored.
- v2, 2026-10-07: rugs are judged on what you held into the ground. Version 1 counted any token that is dead today, even one you left at a profit months ago. Nothing else changed.
- v1, 2026-10-05: first published rules.
